PRODUCTS ❏ #121 ❏ #125 Fujitsu unveils mini-split heat pump line Fujitsu General America, Inc. has introduced a new, Halcyon split-system heat pump line with equipment that achieves up to 27.2 SEER, making it the most energyefficient mini-splits available, and more than twice the DOE's minimum efficiency standard of 13 SEER. The heat pump's heating mode is operational with outdoor ambient temperatures down to -5 F producing 75 percent or more of the system's rated capacity. The system produces 100 percent of heating capacity down to 20 F. For example, the 15RLS2 can produce up to 18,000 BTUs at 20 F and produce 16,000 BTUs even when the outdoor ambient is -5 F. ❏ #122 ❏ #124 Transmitter lowers cost of installation, operation Daikin McQuay MicroTech Integrated System available for water source heat pump applications The Ashcroft DXLdp low-differential pressure transmitter delivers unprecedented reliability for critical air flow, room pressure and air-handler applications. Equipped with the exclusive Ashcroft SpoolCal option, this transmitter can be validated, zeroed and calibrated while online, without ever having to disconnect the pressure tubing. Diagnostic indicator lights and easily accessible test jacks enhance the ease of testing, while DIN rail mounting makes installation a "snap." Simple installation, low maintenance and easy validation add up to significantly reduced costs of operation. ❏ #123 Daikin McQuay announces a new MicroTech Integrated System for water source heat pump applications, an innovative solution that provides smart controls, high performance and installation as easy as plug-and-play. The complete system integrates pumps, towers, boilers and ventilation air with a water source heat pump system. It is easy to install, set up and commission, significantly reducing the need for field controls so contractors and building owners save time and money. The key to the system is the MicroTech System Manager, a touch panel with an easy-to-use, web browserbased interface that can be accessed from any PC, tablet or smartphone. The built-in ancillary control feature allows users to define and create custom control sequences or alarms unique to their application, without the use of special programming tools. Fresh-Aire UV introduces commercial UV light rack system Fresh-Aire UV introduces the Tubular Rack UV System, the HVAC industry's quickest and easiest installing commercial germicidal ultra-violet light IAQ product. The low-cost TRS is designed for effective microbial disinfection in new construction and retrofit IAQ applications, such as in hospitals. Designed for onsite configuration with all major brands and sizes of HVAC equipment, the TRS disinfects interior wall surfaces, coils and the supply airstream of air handlers. The kit consists of the HVAC industry's only lifetime-warranty multi-voltage power supply, Fresh-Aire UV's renowned UV lamps and all the necessary installation bracketing, mounting hardware and marine-grade, waterproof electrical cables and connections. The TRS is designed to use common 1/2-inch galvanized electrical conduit, which is not included in the kit, as support framework. www.mcdmag.com Save Energy System's Demand Limiting Controller offers automated energy efficiency Save Energy Systems, Inc. announced a new version of its patented Demand Limiting Controller that includes a number of advanced features intended to serve commercial buildings that have three or more HVAC units. The DLC automatically monitors ambient and external temperatures to intelligently coordinate an HVAC unit's performance to reduce energy costs up to 30 percent. The DLC is a networked system comprised of a central controller and customized thermostats that leverage discrete zone data with current weather and forecasts to automatically manage HVAC energy consumption, which typically can represent 40-60 percent of a facilities energy use. The system is accessible 24/7 with a browser-based interface that can be viewed on a monitor, tablet or smart phone. The DLC is also compatible with all brands of HVAC manufacturers and interfaces with motorized economizers. ❏ #126 Orbit introduces CA Title 24-compliant dehumidistat sensor Orbit Industries offers a new CA Title 24-compliant dehumidistat sensor, Model DS-2080, which controls bathroom exhaust fans based on the moisture levels in a room. The surface-mounted DS-2080 wall control allows the humidity settings to be adjusted from 20 to 80 percent relative humidity. The unit has an eight percent maximum relative humidity differential. It is ENERGY STAR compliant and CSA LR 32079 approved. January/February 2013 | Medical Construction & Design 51
