LEO A DALY establishes national director of Veterans Health Administration Programs PETER A. YAKOWICZ , P.E., MHA, has joined LEO A DALY as the fi rst national director of Veterans Health Administration Programs. He will work closely with the national directors for the healthcare and federal market sectors to develop programs designed specifi cally for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Yakowicz brings over 30 years of experience to his position. He will be responsible for cultivating new business opportunities, building and sustaining positive working relationships and pursuing and securing strategic relationships with partnering fi rms in pursuit of federal business opportunities. As capital assets program director for the Department of Veterans Affairs Midwest Healthcare Network in Eagan, Minnesota, Yakowicz managed $8 billion worth of capital assets at eight Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare networks on 12 campuses, as well as 68 community- based outpatient clinics throughout a fi ve-state region. He directed strategic capital planning, health facility master planning, project development, resource allocation and overall program management. O'Connell Robertson adds healthcare team director in San Antonio, Texas WALTER MARKS II, AIA, has been added as O'Connell Robertson's healthcare team director in San Antonio, Texas. He has more than 25 years of experience designing healthcare environments. His experience involves a variety of new construction and renovation projects, including clinics, hospitals, medical offi ce buildings and specialty centers. Marks' most recent assignment was as architect and medical planner for King Khalid Medical City, a 16.5-million- square foot project under construction in Saudi Arabia that will feature a 4.5-million-square-foot tertiary care hospital, 5,000 housing units, a recreation center and parking garage.
