The new St. Jude Medical Center Northwest Tower project
in Fullerton, California, built at a cost of $228 million, is
an Integrated Project Delivery design-build healthcare
project, which took the design-build model to new heights.
This delivery method includes IPD terms and conditions
with contractual incentives for the design team, contractors
and subcontractors while still providing the owner
with the certainty of a guaranteed maximum price. To
receive these incentives, the team members needed
to meet the health system's goals for safety, budget,
design, facility satisfaction, quality and schedule.
