She has worked with health- care clients including the U.S. Department of Veterans Af airs, Kaiser Permanente, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Scripps Health, Loma Linda University Medical Center and the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Three Promoted at Anderson Mikos Architects Cary Chorney, Ashley Guzlas and Lindsey Burghgraef have recently been promoted at Anderson Mikos Architects, a fi rm which focuses on healthcare. Cary Chorney was named senior project architect. Chorney's architectural experience includes primarily the sche- matic design, design development and con- struction documentation phases. He has made valuable contributions to many healthcare clients throughout the Chicago, Illinois and suburban area, as well as Wiscon- sin and Indiana. Ashley Guzlas , IIDA, was named senior project designer. With the majority of her professional career focused on healthcare, Guzlas has been involved in the design process from initial design development through construction administration, including concept development, material selections, presentation, construction documents and project closeout. Lindsey Burghgraef , IIDA, LEED AP, was named senior project designer. Burghgraef 's interior design experi- ence has been extensive in arenas from emer- gency care to outpatient services and pediatric- centered care. New Healthcare Leaders Named at Duke Realty Ryan Rothacker and Mark Dukes have been promoted to vice presidents, regional asset managers, at Duke Realty. Rothacker began his career at Duke Realty in 2002 as an assistant property manager. He will continue to lead Duke Realty's Midwest healthcare region and also oversee the compa- ny's healthcare proper- ties in the South region. Dukes joined the fi rm in 2006 as vice presi- dent of asset management and customer service. He will lead the company's East and Southeast healthcare regions. Joseph Maytum Named Associate VP at RTLK DC Office Joseph Maytum , AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has joined RTKL DC as an associate vice president. With over 21 years of medi- cal planning and design experience, he is a rec- ognized leader in the pediatric healthcare market. Maytum joins RTKL from Heitkamp Swift Architects where he worked as a senior medical planner. Previously, he worked at FKP Architects as a senior medical planner specializing in pediatric healthcare architecture for 15 years. His experience ranges from high-tech pediatric patient rooms to freestanding children's hospitals and outpatient centers. Crow to Head up Healthcare Engineering at Arup, Houston Carl Crow , P.E., ASHRAE HBDP, has joined Arup in its Houston, Texas loca- tion as an associate principal with a focus on healthcare and re- search facilities. Crow will be responsible for leading and growing the healthcare/health science design capa- bilities in the fi rm's Houston of ce. Crow has 35 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry specializing in the design and specifi ca- tion of mechanical, electrical and plumb- ing systems for large building projects. He is a past president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Austin Chapter; serves with ASHRAE as a voting member on Technical Committee 9.10 for labo- ratory systems and is a member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers. He is also a registered professional engi- neer in 19 states. Cynthia Keeffe Joins HOK's Los Angeles Office Cynthia Keef e , AIA, ACHA, LEED AP BD+C, EDAC, has joined HOK in Los Angeles, California as a vice president and regional leader of the fi rm's health- care practice. Keef e brings 25 years of Stouffer Promoted to HKS Executive Committee Jeffrey Stouffer , AIA, ACHA, executive vice president and HKS healthcare group director, has been promoted to the HKS Executive Committee. The fi ve-person Executive Committee includes Stouffer, as well as Dan Noble, FAIA, FACHA, LEED AP, president and CEO; H. Ralph Hawkins, FAIA, FACHA, LEED AP, chairman; Nunzio M. DeSantis, FAIA, executive vice president and Craig Beale, FAIA, FACHA, CHE, CHC, LEED AP, executive vice president. The committee is in charge of managing the 1,100-person, 26-offi ce global architectural practice. Stouffer has dedicated his 27-year career to designing cutting-edge healthcare facilities in the U.S. and abroad. He believes the fusion of evidence-infl uenced design and fl exible planning principles result i n facilities that support the hospital's mission and the staff's operational goals.
