Lawrence & Memorial Hospital has engaged TRO Jung|Brannen to design its new $34.5 million, 47,000-square-foot cancer center in Waterford, Conn. The project is being developed with Suffolk Construction under an integrated project delivery contract. The center will be sited amid 102 acres of woodland. The new facility will house all services needed by cancer patients within a single facility. Construc- tion is anticipated to be complete in 2013.

Alberici Constructors, Inc. has begun a $14-million addition to Memorial Hospital in Abilene, Kansas. This addition is the fi rst of two phases of construction, scheduled for completion in June 2013. The 45,000-square- foot addition will house key clinical functions for the hospital including the emergency department, surgery suite, laboratory, imaging department with fi xed MRI and 25 private patient rooms including obstetrics. The addition also includes a new main entrance, lobby, gift shop and registration.
SSOE Group recently completed Santé of Surprise Transitional Rehabilitation Center in Surprise, Ariz. The center includes 94 licensed patient beds, an Internet café and an outdoor therapy and healing garden.
