Green News PRODUCTS R #104 New EcoCore Phase Change
Panel from Tate saves energy Tate introduced its new EcoCore Phase Change Panel, which incorporates the lat- est advances in micro-encapsulated phase change materials to reduce indoor air temper- ature fl uctuations and save energy. During the peak solar load of the day, the phase change material embedded within the welded steel panel is designed to melt and absorb energy. This stored energy can be held within
R #100 Tarkett strives to meet highest
indoor air quality standards To further improve the way Tarkett products impact indoor air quality, the company recently announced it is making several product advancements to have all products in North America under the limit of quantifi cation — less than 10 micro- grams per cubic meter — for total volatile organic compound. It has signifi cantly reduced product
emissions for several of its products. Johnsonite's homogeneous sheet and tile fl ooring, SVT (solid vinyl tile), VET (vinyl enhanced tile) and VCT (vinyl composition tile) are at less than 10 micrograms per cubic meter. Johnsonite's heterogeneous and linoleum fl ooring, as well as vinyl and rubber wall base products, have a TVOC emission of 100 micrograms per cubic meter or less. The goal is to bring these products to less than 10 micrograms per cubic meter by 2015.
R #101 Model III Package Unit Substation helps facilities maximize space to
convert power Schneider Electric offers its Model III Package Unit Substation, the new- est addition to its line of Square D by Schneider
the panel until cold air during the off hours at night allows the phase change material to re-solidify and release the absorbed heat back into the space. Storing energy this way produces a more stable and comfortable
Electric energy-effi cient products. Whether renovating or completing new
construction, the unit substation offers the most space-saving, compact design and effi cient performance in one complete module. Ideal for healthcare facilities, data centers and industrial environments where limited space is a concern, the streamlined build allows for fast and easy installation in tight spaces.

Hospital steam fi lter eliminates wet packs and
stained instruments The Filtration and Separation Division of Parker Hannifi n offers Balston Steam Filter, which removes moisture and contaminants from steam and eliminates instrument staining, rusting and spotting. The Model 23R
Steam Filter effectively removes 98+ percent of contaminants 0.1 micron and larger from steam. The fi l- ter also removes boiler feed water chemicals and excess conden- sate from steam, eliminating wet packs. The steam fi lter signifi - cantly reduces operating costs by eliminating the staining of sterilizer interiors, minimizing maintenance
environment during the day while decreasing demands on HVAC systems and reducing energy costs.
of sterilizer steam-control valves, door seals and other rubber materials. The 23R Steam Filter also reduces drying cycles, saving and increasing productivity ef- fi ciencies.
R #103 Versa engineers fl exible,
eco-friendly wall protection Versa Wallcover- ing has developed VersaGuard, a fl exible wall protection more durable than Type II wallcovering and more affordable than rigid panels. The heavy-duty 33 oz. vinyl construction and durable protective top fi lm provides an attractive wall surface four times more impact-resistant than Type II wallcovering, according to independent testing. Engineered to perform in high-traffi c
corridors and public spaces, the product shields walls from rigorous use and the repeated impact of rolling traffi c. The innovative wall concept is highly resistant to soiling and tough stains. In addition, VersaGuard is made with Second-Look Recycled Technology and contains 20-percent recycled content by weight, including 10-percent post-consumer. The new type of wall protection is low-VOC.
