He joined the fi rm in 2002 and was named an associate in 2006. He holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from Carnegie Mellon. Brandy Olson Recognized by AIA as Emerging Healthcare Leader Brandy Olson , director of operations design for HDR, was an inaugural recipient of the U40 Award from the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health and The Next Generation Committee. The award program was created to recognize the emerg- ing leaders and the movers and shakers in the healthcare design industry involved in advanc- ing the creation of environments of healing. In her role, she connects with HDR's healthcare clients by combining the analytic prowess of an engi- neer with the understanding of a healthcare administrator. She created the Operations Design team at HDR to help clients fi nd the most ef cient and ef ective ways to deliver healthcare, bridg- ing the gap between current realities and future operations. Olson is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt — a certifi ed expert in using the Lean Six Sigma process to identify, address and correct a problem within a system. She guides healthcare clients toward change by combining process improvement strategies with a collaborative "silo-busting" process designed to break down organizational boundaries and hierarchies. Brandy Olson Katherine E. Moore has joined Wilson Architectural Group, Inc. as a project manager. She brings to the fi rm over 24 years of healthcare architecture and project management experience. She has worked on everything from master planning and renovating healthcare facilities to equipment procurement. Shen Milsom & Wilke recently welcomed George Olsen as a medical equip- ment and technology planner. He has 18 years of experience in healthcare project management, budgeting, procurement management and transition planning. Roseann Pisklak , RID, IIDA, AAHID, LEED AP, has been tapped to head WHR Architects' interior design studio. A versatile designer and manager, she has been responsible for over 6 million square feet of healthcare interiors. Alanna Carter has been hired as associate vice president and healthcare principal in HGA Architects and Engineers' Minneapolis, Minnesota offi ce. She specializes in design for aging and is founder of the Minnesota Chapter of Society for the Advancement of Gerontological Environments. Carter has designed more than 6 million square feet of built environments for the aging. Andy Vogel , AIA, LEED AP, joined Array Architects as a principal and the new Columbus, Ohio offi ce's studio director. His thought leadership and passion for healthcare design improvement will bring an additional resource to the fi rm's health system clients.
