excellence and thought leadership at EYP Health will continue as Senior Principal and Studio Leader Charles Griffi n , FAIA, FACHA, EDAC, has assumed the role of healthcare leader. As the founding principal of WHR Architects, Watkins' ca- reer and his impact on the world of healthcare architecture spans 38 years, 50 million square feet of projects and 35 million square feet of healthcare space. Over the years, he trans- formed WHR from a two-person practice to a 180+ person fi rm. In 2014, the company merged with EYP, and earlier this year brought to the team Stanley Beaman & Sears Architects of Atlanta, Georgia, to create EYP Health. Watkins co-authored "Evidence-Based Design for Multiple Building Types," with his co-founding partner Kirk Hamilton in 2008. Griffi n was the 2014 president of the Academy of Architecture for Health where he strengthened the organization's position as a thoughtful voice for architecture at a time of dramatic change in healthcare. As a key part of the fi rm's leadership, he has taken an active role in the growth and development of the practice, and served as principal-in- charge of EYP Health's growing North Carolina offi ce. Over the last 30 years, he has been involved in many healthcare projects throughout Southern California, including the $447.3-million Naval Hos- pital at Camp Pendleton and the St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California. John Healy has been appointed partner at Hammes Company. The regional vice president responsible for Hammes' operations in the South- eastern United States, he made partner after two years of service with the company. Healy has over 30 years of experience in managing large, complex healthcare capital programs for some of the nation's leading healthcare systems. Jessica Harris has been named director of architecture at TEG Architects. She has been with the fi rm for 16 years and has served as the project architect on numerous signifi cant healthcare projects throughout the mid-south. She also men- tors and manages the architectural staff in the Shreveport, Louisiana offi ce. James W. Thomson , American Institute of Archi- tects, National Council of Architectural Registra- tion Boards, has been named vice president and managing principal for AECOM's Midwest region Buildings + Places practice, part of its Design and Consulting Services group. He has 23 years of experience in design and leadership with expertise in healthcare environments. Douglas Banks , AIA, has been promoted to princi- pal architect and board member at TSA Architects. A recognized expert in healthcare architecture, over his 25-year career, he has assisted many healthcare facilities with the design of highly com- plex spaces, such as operating suites, imaging centers and cardiac catheterization labs. Shane Williams , AIA, ACHA, NCARB, Lean Six Sigma-Healthcare, has joined Leo A Daly's Dallas, Texas offi ce as director of design — healthcare. He will concentrate on expanding the fi rm's healthcare footprint throughout Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana. He has more than 20 years of industry experience.
