When the Order of St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois undertook a 440,000-square- foot expansion, it faced a major facility challenge — bringing the Children's Hospital of Illinois under the same roof with the existing medical center. The hospital looked to the architects and Cannon Design's dedicated healthcare interiors team to shape a patient experience that was clear, friendly and caring — from wayfi nding to the right fi nishes. In keeping with its commitment to bringing smart design choices that solve client challenges, the team used color as an integral element to the overall design.
