A Smoke Guard system
on an elevator in the
core of your building
provides the smoke
containment required by
the building code with a
high performance, space
conserving, substitution
to the one-hour rated
enclosed elevator lobby.
When smoke is actively
detected by a local smoke
detector, the orange
Smoke Guard polyimide
material rolls downward,
magnetically sealing to face
of the elevator opening
the opposing sides of the
curtain. Once deployed, the
transparent curtain may be
retracted by a membrane
switch mounted in the
center of both sides of the
curtain or with less than 15
lbs. of force.
