A registered architect in Michigan, she is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is a founding member and presi- dent of the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design. Hord Coplan Macht Expands Healthcare Practice with Addition of Mary Morissette Hord Coplan Macht recently expanded its healthcare prac- tice to its Denver, Colorado lo- cation. Mary Morissette , FAIA, LEED AP, has joined the fi rm as prin- cipal and is responsible for growth of the fi rm's health- care studio in the Colorado and Rocky Mountain region. Morissette brings over 20 years of experience to the fi rm. Prior to joining Hord Coplan Macht, she was a principal and vice president at Page. HGA Names New Sustainable Design Director Lisa Matthiessen , FAIA, LEED Fellow, was recently named associate vice president and national sustainable design director at HGA Archi- tects and Engineers. Matthies- sen has more than 25 years of experi- ence in sustainable design and planning, focusing on architec- ture and design, engineering and energy-effi cient building systems, urban and campus master planning, policy devel- opment and cost management. She is past director of the national board of directors for USGBC and was instrumen- tal in developing LEED for Healthcare and LEED for Labs. Michael Gillespie Named AKF Group National Healthcare Practice Leader Michael Gillespie , P.E., LEED AP, a 13-year veteran at AKF Group, has been named the fi rm's na- tional health- care practice leader. Gillespie has devoted his career to understanding the delicate intricacies of healthcare infrastructure. He is valued by clients and colleagues for his in- depth understanding of the complexities of planning medical facilities, whether community-based outpatient clinics, integrated OR systems, emergency preparedness compliance programs or major metropolitan hospital campuses. Hammes Company Grows Healthcare Market Leadership with Addition of Marc Leediker Marc Leediker has joined Hammes Company as senior project executive. He brings 30 years of healthcare design and project management experience to his position, including 10 years as vice president of the Facilities Management Group at Children's Medical Center of Dallas, Texas. His medical center devel- opment experience includes a wide range of projects, including the multi-phase planning and development of Baylor Medical Center in Frisco, Texas, expansion of multiple acute care facilities in Texas for Pennsylvania-based Universal Health Services and the development of a prototype micro-hospital in George- town, Texas, for Embree Asset Group. Dr. Manuel Hernandez Joins Kahler Slater Healthcare Team Manuel Hernandez , M.D., MBA, FACEP, CPE, has joined Kahler Slater as principal, strategic innovation/ co-practice leader of the fi rm's health- care team. Dr. Hernandez has struck a unique professional balance as a practicing physician, innova- tor and design professional. As a practicing physician, he has been recognized for patient satisfaction scores that exceed the 99th percentile. He is an assistant professor of emer- gency medicine at Penn State Health / Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and an attend- ing physician at the University of Florida Health in Jackson- ville, Florida. Eduardo Egea to Lead Leo A Daly Miami Leo A Daly has hired Eduardo Egea , AIA, to lead its Miami, Florida offi ce. As vice presi- dent and managing principal, he will be in charge of design and business development for the fi rm's work across market sectors in South Florida, the Caribbean and South and Cen- tral America. Egea has 24 years of ex- perience as an architectural CRGA Design Bolsters Healthcare Portfolio with Hiring of Usama Hassanein Usama Hassanein , Assoc. AIA, EDAC, LEED AP BD+C, has been named prin- cipal at CRGA Design, and will work primarily on healthcare design. Hassanein has over 20 years of experi- ence working in medical planning and healthcare design, design research and construction documentation. He has led renovation projects for healthcare centers across Maryland including Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Mercy Health System, Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Before joining CRGA, Hassanein worked as a senior medical planner for Hord Coplan Macht. He holds a Bachelor of Science in archi- tectural engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo.
